Han XIAO is a freelance director based in Beijing, China. During her study at Kingston University in MA Filmmaking, she has written and directed three short films, in which, Broken Lock, has been selected to First-time Filmmaker Session and London Lift-off Film Festival. Her graduation film – The Isle – discusses the relationship between freedom and loneliness through a female perspective.
She has subtle and unique eyes to capture female emotions and desire, that is the eternal subject of her films. As a female director, she aims to constructively inject female voice into film industry, at least, in Chinese market, she strongly feels that this industry is still dominated by men.
In her future career, she will keep focusing on making films, also commercials and TV series. And she will continue to participate in international film festivals worldwide.
