Abbe Leigh Fletcher

I am a filmmaker with a background in experimental and documentary filmmaking. I have made several films with artist Jessica Akerman which form part of the Film maker in the Family project which investigate the impact of family life on creativity.

I am a senior lecturer and course director of the MA film making and postgraduate research coordinator for the department of Film and Photography at Kingston School of Art. I co-founded the MA film making in 2006 and have been supervising PhDs in film making since 2010.

My research interests include experimental and documentary film practice, the intersection of filmmaking and family life. I am particularly interested in investigating the interdisciplinary processes of filmmaking and the importance of play in creativity.
